Meet Geoff

I was born in California and moved to Albuquerque in 1989, where I grew up in poverty and endured abuse throughout my childhood. Those early years were filled with instability, hunger, and depression, and by my teens I had convinced myself I wouldn’t live past 27. I survived one direct attempt to take my life, and that moment became a turning point — a commitment to rise above the circumstances that tried to define me. Like many young people who grow up without support, I made serious mistakes, including stealing and selling drugs to survive. I also know what it feels like to go hungry for long stretches, unsure where the next meal would come from. These experiences are part of my story, but they are not where it ends. They taught me empathy, responsibility, and the importance of building systems that help people, not abandon them.

Despite my circumstances, I have worked since the age of 14, building a long and steady career through perseverance and dedication. For more than a decade, I served as a Senior Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens before joining the UNM Cancer Center Outpatient Pharmacy as an Oral Oncology Tech. I later worked as an MTM Tech with the University of Arizona Medication Management program, and then as a Quality Analyst at SinfoniaRx, where I created SQL queries, monitored calls, ensured CMS compliance, and built data dashboards to protect patients and improve health outcomes. Today, I’m a Business Analyst and Workforce Management SME at Walgreens Specialty, where I design and maintain advanced SQL reports and business planning tools that support nationwide operations.

Today, I am happily married and raising a child — something that once felt impossible in the darkest years of my youth. My family is both my anchor and my reminder of why I am fighting for a better New Mexico. I am running for Governor because I have lived what too many New Mexicans endure: hunger, trauma, poverty, and systems that don’t catch you when you fall. And I’ve also lived the power of recovery, resilience, and opportunity. My journey has shaped me into a leader who understands struggle at its deepest level and who believes in building a state where no child grows up feeling hopeless, where families can thrive, and where dignity and opportunity are accessible to everyone. I am committed to using my lived experience, my professional skills, and my determination to create a safer, stronger, and more compassionate New Mexico for all.
